Strength – it’s not just for weight lifters, it’s how we hold ourselves. How our skeleton and muscles work together to create a taller, stronger you. Pilates helps us focus on developing core strength, which in turn strengthens and lengthens us as a whole person.

Stamina – it’s not just for olympic athletes. We all need stamina to get through the day. When you feel tired, when it’s the end of a long day, we need stamina to keep us going. In Pilates we build stamina through the body and mind. The will and the want to achieve helps us grow as a person, from our core to our toes and up to the top of our head.

Flexibility – it’s not just for ballerinas who can touch their head with their toes! Flexibility means our whole self can move with control and co-ordination. We have the ability to stand taller, stretch further, move faster and look after ourselves more easily. 

Pilates helps us focus on all of these areas. We work from our core, with control and precision, focusing on individual muscles and movements to really identify our strengths and weaknesses.

If you have never tried Pilates before give it a go. Pilates is for all ages, all types, shapes and sizes of person. All exercises can be modified and progressed to suit each unique individual.

As Joseph Pilates himself said

” If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young”

In my garden studio in-between Kington and Presteigne, I can teach 1 – 4 people in private and small group lessons. I also teach in Titley village hall four times a week.
